Senior Living – 35 Accessible Residential Units

Our team is proud to present a pioneering modular senior living project in Rumia, northern Poland. It’s a modern three-storey social building that combines comfortable, independent living with community, educational and workshop functions.
The building provides 35 two-person apartments, supported by shared spaces that encourage integration, daily activity and independence. It includes an elevator, tenant storage units, a communal room and a dedicated service area that can be adapted for functions such as a café, restaurant or medical office. The entire facility is designed to be fully accessible for people with disabilities.
All modules were manufactured off-site at DMDmodular’s production facility in Poland and delivered fully finished to site, ensuring consistent quality and significantly reduced construction time compared with traditional methods.
The development was funded through a grant secured from Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), making it a pilot project on a national scale and the first building of its kind in Poland. Designed to be affordable to maintain, accessible and multifunctional, it creates new housing opportunities for seniors while supporting social engagement, occupational therapy, workshops and developmental activities.
The Rumia senior living building is a unique example of how modern modular construction can respond to demographic challenges by delivering inclusive, efficient and community-oriented living environments.
